Australian Scalextric Grand Prix 2010 - Huge Thank You

Date Added : 06/05/2010

As always, I struggle to get the news out to the wide world. Thankfully Dave Hannaway, our Race Director, Chief Bottle Washer and all around good guy is not as slack as me. See posts on Slot Forum. http://www.slotforum.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=47518

It has taken a fortnight to recover from this huge event. It surpassed all of our expectations but MOST importantly we had anywhere from 500 to 600 people come and have fun and try slot cars and radio controlled cars for FREE.

Huge thanks to Matthew from Southern Models, Steve from O'Reilly Model Products and Phil from The Hobby Headquarters. With no more reward than greasy sausages and Coke these guys demonstrated Traxxas, Losi, Carisma, Axial and Robitronic radio controlled cars all day. Hundreds of people drove them. They drove them into walls, ramps, legs (human), tables and even cars all day. Some of the time they were driven on their own designated test tracks but that was fairly rare.

On the Mezzanine a Warhammer 40K tournament took place also. As always, thank you to Gary and Chris who quietly get on with the business of running the Red Reavers Club. It's true you get minimal support from Red Racer but make the most of it anyway.

Our crew of extremely willing volunteers who weren't and probably could never be adequately compensated for their efforts on this day and in fact most days of every week. Red Racer Hobbies would not exist without you guys and girls. In no particular order, thank you to, Rob, Paul, Dave both Adrians, Rick, Steve from Noumea, Jan and Lise, Steve, Gibb and Gary, Jay and Justin, Jamie and Nathan, Udo, Ken, Phil and his wife (oops),

Great efforts from our staff kicking boy Steve who quietly gets on with no fuss, efficiently and effectively and most importantly always cheerily.

...and lastly my ever patient and loving partner Sacha, thanks honey for tolerating it all. It will all be on again Queensland Labour Day weekend 2011.
